In the north of Ukraine, the preparation and formation of new air defense fire groups continues. They are an excellent alternative to the high-quality anti-aircraft missiles that Russia is counting on to destroy targets. This was stated by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, on his Telegram channel.
General Nayev noted that the preparation and formation of new mobile air defense firing groups is being successfully carried out in the north of Ukraine, which has become possible thanks to new modern weapons brought from other partner countries.
The General emphasized that mobile fire groups play an important role in ensuring the protection of Ukraine's airspace.
He noted that the crews of these groups operate 24 hours a day, day and night, and are sent to destroy enemy air targets.
"Day and night, 24/7, these crews go on missions to destroy enemy air targets. Anti-aircraft machine guns are an adequate response to the enemy's strategy of depleting our air defense system," the general said.
According to Nayev, the aggressor is counting on its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to use up the stock of high-quality anti-aircraft missiles. Instead, anti-aircraft machine guns provide an opportunity to effectively perform tasks using relatively inexpensive ammunition.
