Information about the deaths of 23 Ukrainians in Israel is not true. As of October 19, 18 Ukrainian citizens have been confirmed dead. This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk during a telethon.
"We have confirmed information about 18 dead, not 23. This information is not true," the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that Ukraine remains in second place after the United States in terms of the number of victims as a result of hostilities in Israel.
According to the ambassador, the situation in the Gaza Strip is getting even more complicated. More than 300 people are on the evacuation list, and the death of a Ukrainian woman in Gaza was confirmed last night.
"I hope that the evacuation will start. The first trucks with humanitarian aid went through Rafah (a checkpoint on the border with Egypt) to the Gaza Strip. I hope that the Palestinian side, Hamas, will fulfill their promise and let the foreigners out," he added.
Yesterday, on October 18, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mykhailo Brodsky said that 23 Ukrainians were killed in Israel.
