Russians intensify offensive on Avdiivka again - Barabash

The Russian army continues its attempts to surround Avdiivka, yesterday the number of attacks on the community's settlements increased. This was stated by the head of Avdiivka city military administration Vitaliy Barabash.

"The shelling lasted all night. We hear gunfire from the positions around the clock. They are shooting from everything they have. The conditional "decrease" in the degree of tension that has been in our direction for several days, unfortunately, yesterday we saw the opposite: the number of shelling on the territory of the community increased, the number of air strikes increased, not only on ours, but also on the neighboring, Ocheretyn community," he said during a telethon.

Humanitarian aid is not coming to the city. The evacuation of civilians continues, with about 1,600 people remaining in the city.

"As of this morning, 1601 people remain in the city. The evacuation is going on gradually: yesterday we evacuated 4 people, and the day before yesterday 9. I hope that such circumstances (escalation of hostilities) will force people to make a decision to evacuate a little bit," he said.

Barabash does not hide the fact that living in the city is still "really difficult."

"We have even stopped importing humanitarian aid during the escalation period, although it is available in the city, there is food, medicine in sufficient quantities, and we have reserves," stated the head of the CMA.
