Ukraine has significantly extended the validity period of an electronic prescription for medicines purchased by a patient at his or her own expense. The term has been extended from 30 to 90 days. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the patient will be able not only to visit the doctor less often to renew the prescription, but also to redeem the e-prescription more conveniently, as it will be issued for a course of treatment for up to 90 days.
At the same time, prescriptions for narcotic medicines will remain valid for 10 days, and for medicines subject to reimbursement (state reimbursement of the cost of medicines) or dispensed on preferential terms, or extemporaneous medicines - 30 calendar days.
"You can still redeem an electronic prescription at a pharmacy that works with the electronic healthcare system. You can find a suitable pharmacy by using the dashboard "Electronic map of e-prescription drug outlets". To do this, just select the region, type and name of the settlement where you live. After that, the dashboard will display a map with the marks of available pharmacies, as well as a list of addresses of pharmacies that dispense medicines by e-prescription," the Ministry said in a statement.
