US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that support for Ukraine remains a "top priority" for the United States and Europe, calling it crucial to Ukraine's fight against Russian invasion, Reuters reports.
"We cannot allow Ukraine to lose the war for economic reasons when it has demonstrated the ability to succeed on the battlefield," Yellen said in her speech to eurozone finance ministers, without addressing the war in the Middle East.
The Treasury Secretary reiterated that the Biden administration is ready to support Ukraine "for as long as it takes" and will fight to ensure that the bipartisan majority in the US Congress provides "strong" and continuous assistance.
