BILD military analyst Julian Röpke writes that Avdiivka may repeat the fate of Bakhmut, as the Russians intend to advance despite the losses.
In his opinion, the initial plan of the Russian Federation was to bypass the city from the west, capturing the villages of Pivnichne, Stepove and Berdychi, and surround it. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to stop the Russians near Pivnichne and on the railway line in Stepove.
According to Röpke, the Russian attack involved convoys of more than 100 vehicles, with more than 60 tanks and armored personnel carriers lost and more than 200 soldiers killed.
