Ukrainian Navy: Russian Navy's Pavel Derzhavin ship was damaged in the Black Sea

The Russian Black Sea Fleet ship Pavel Derzhavin was damaged in the Black Sea near Sevastopol the day before. This was officially confirmed by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk, 3rd Rank.

According to him, he cannot give all the details of the incident, but he can officially confirm that the patrol ship was damaged.

"You are the first people to whom I am officially confirming today that it was damaged. I can't give you any information about the circumstances of this incident, let's call it that, but it is a fact," Pletenchuk said.

The Ukrainian Navy spokesperson clarified that the Pavel Derzhavin is a Russian navy ship, although the Ukrainian Navy used to have a ship of the same name.

"They have the same name. As far as I remember, there was such an interesting moment before the war. I can only say that this is not a Ukrainian ship," Pletenchuk said.

As a reminder, the day before, the spokesman for the Odesa RMA, Serhiy Bratchuk, said that the Pavel Derzhavin patrol ship of the Vasyl Bykov type 22160 project exploded on the outer raid of Sevastopol.
