An attempt by an eight-member Russian subversive group to break through the border was prevented in Sumy region at night. This was reported by the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Nayev.
They were spotted by territorial defense soldiers at an observation post, fire was opened, and the Russians retreated with losses. There were no losses on the Ukrainian side.
"The enemy was hit by artillery and mortar units," the general said.
Nayev also said that the subversive group was planning to move on in the direction of a civilian critical infrastructure facility.
