During his address to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called for unity and the fight against terrorism, comparing Hamas' tactics in Israel to those of Russia, which it uses against Ukraine.
In his speech, Zelensky said that Hamas and Russia use the same tactics, and Israeli journalists who have been to Ukraine and witnessed the consequences of Russia's atrocities are now seeing the same thing happening in their home country.
"The same evil, and the only difference is that this is a terrorist organization that attacked Israel, and here is a terrorist state that attacked Ukraine," Zelensky said, speaking via video link.
Zelenskiy also linked Iran to the invasion of Ukraine and the attack on Israel.
He emphasized that Iran "cannot say that it has nothing to do with what is happening in Ukraine" if it sells Shahed drones to Russia, and that it cannot claim that it "has nothing to do with what is happening in Israel" if its officials declare support for Hamas.
"How far can such evil go? No further than we will allow it. Our unity must and can stop evil. Our desire for peace, not their desire for blood, should determine how the world lives. Our rules based on international law, not their attempts to make death the rule," Zelensky added.
Alluding to the situation in the United States, Zelensky said that "now is not the time to withdraw from the international arena into internal disputes. It is not the time to isolate ourselves. It is not the time to be silent or pretend that terror on one continent does not affect global affairs."
"Europe must be active. The United States must be active. China, India, Arab states should feel how much can fall apart if they allow terrorists to achieve their goals," the Head of State said.
