On the morning of October 6, Russians attacked the center of Kharkiv. The explosions occurred at around 6:46 a.m., and immediately after that an air alert was declared in the region.


As a result of the rocket attack, 16 people were injured, and the body of a child was pulled from the rubble. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleg Synegubov, on Telegram.


"A 10-year-old child was found under the rubble, unfortunately, the boy died. Preliminarily, 16 people were injured, including an 11-month-old child," Synegubov wrote.


Rescuers are currently working at the site of the hits, dismantling the rubble.


At the same time, according to Dmytro Chubenko, a spokesman for the regional prosecutor's office, about 20 people asked for help as a result of the morning attack on Kharkiv.


The type of missiles used by the Russian terrorists is being determined by experts.


Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the number of victims during a telethon and said that the attack hit the central part of the city.


"I want to say that we have 16 victims. Unfortunately, a boy of 10 years old died. These are residential buildings that are shelled by the enemy. I can't say how many is the final number of casualties, but we are talking about 16," he said.


Terekhov noted that the air raid was sounded immediately after the explosions began. 


"We have to understand that the distance is such that the Iskander arrives very quickly," the mayor added.


Local publics published numerous photos and videos of the consequences of the missile strike.

The body of the second victim of the morning rocket attacks was found in Kharkiv, Mayor Terekhov said.


The woman born in 1955 died.


The Ministry of Internal Affairs clarifies that she is the grandmother of the first victim, a 10-year-old child. Its 11-month-old brother was also wounded. In total, 28 people were wounded.
