On the night of October 5, a large-scale attack by Shahed drones was repelled in the south of Ukraine. 24 drones were shot down. This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for the South Operational Command, during a telethon.
"There are already preliminary results - 24 Shaheds were destroyed in our area of responsibility. These are the southern and southeastern regions where the enemy sent them. We will summarize the final results and report them later," she said.
The Ukrainian Air Force also reported that at night, Russians attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type attack UAVs from the south. In total, 29 Shaheds were launched.
"The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, destroyed 24 Shahed-131/136 within Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions," the Air Force said.
