The Pentagon has no information about the death of Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Viktor Sokolov after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the occupiers' headquarters in Sevastopol. The statement was made by the US Department of Defense spokesperson Sabrina Singh during a briefing.

"I have no confirmation yet. I've seen these reports (about Sokolov's liquidation - ed.), but I can't confirm anything right now," Singh said.

Earlier, we reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to find out from the relevant Ukrainian authorities about the fate of Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Viktor Sokolov. The country's leader said this during a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
