The Pentagon is concerned about the impact of a possible shutdown on Ukrainian pilots' F-16 training

A potential temporary shutdown of US government agencies could have a negative impact on the training of Ukrainian pilots who are training on F-16 fighter jets. This was announced by Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh at a briefing.

Answering a question about the shutdown and its impact on the training of Ukrainian pilots, she said: "Absolutely. It can affect training."

Sabrina Singh explained
that she was referring to civilian specialists invited to participate in the training of the Ukrainian military. In the event of a shutdown, they may be forced to go on unpaid leave. Military personnel will continue to work during the shutdown.

The speaker also emphasized
that the shutdown is the "worst case scenario" that could happen for the US Department of Defense.

"We hope that Congress will be able to work and find a bipartisan, bicameral way to avoid a government shutdown. But we are still working out additional details on the impact of programs," she added.
