Ukraine and the USA are close to finalizing an agreement to supply long-range ATACMS missiles. The absence of these weapons could negatively affect Ukraine's combat capabilities, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with CNN.
"We are at the finish line, I am sure of it," the head of state said.
He emphasized that Ukraine does not plan to send these missiles against Russia, but seeks to preserve its combat capabilities. Zelenskyy also noted that the absence of these missiles could lead to heavy losses on the battlefield.
Zelenskyy also stated the need to strengthen air defense systems, including the Patriot air defense system, to ensure the protection of civilian areas.
