Ukraine continues to strengthen its cooperation with NATO member states in the field of demining the Black Sea. This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy on Facebook.
According to the report, international cooperation in the field of demining Ukrainian waters is constantly being strengthened. Last year, the headquarters of the tactical mine action group took a course in mine action planning, which helped prepare personnel for joint actions.
The Ukrainian Navy emphasized that all of this was conducted in accordance with NATO standards, which they are striving to fully master. Unified principles and norms will be the key to the successful completion of joint tasks and ensure Ukraine's security in the future.
In addition to theoretical training, an important step was for the military to learn English at a level sufficient to understand technical documentation and communicate with international partners. As early as 2023, Ukrainian sailors could demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
Together with the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group, a training operation was planned to demining a conditional crisis area off the northeast coast of Scotland. The Naval Forces Headquarters directed the mine countermeasures forces during the exercise.
At the moment, Ukrainian sailors are continuing their training abroad and are actively preparing for the demining of Ukrainian waters in the future after the threat to the Russian occupation fleet is neutralized. Interoperability with Western partners in accordance with NATO standards remains a priority.
