On the night of Monday, September 18, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones and three types of missiles - X-101, X-555, and X-55. Air defense managed to shoot down 18 drones and 17 missiles. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"On the night of September 18, 2023, the enemy attacked Ukraine with attack UAVs of the Shahed-136/131-type and X-101/X-555/X-55 air-based cruise missiles," the statement said.
According to the Air Force, the Shaheds flew from two directions - Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea). The occupiers launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Volgograd region.
"A total of 24 attack UAVs were recorded in the direction of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Eight aircraft were involved, 17 cruise missiles of X-101/X-555/X-55 type were launched," the military added.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 18 attack drones were destroyed by air defense along the route.
"All 17 were destroyed by the Air Force within the Dnipro, Poltava and Khmelnytsky regions," the report said.
The morning report of the General Staff says that since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have launched a massive air strike using cruise missiles and attack UAVs against the civilian infrastructure of Odesa region.
"Information on the consequences of this terrorist attack is being clarified," the General Staff added.

The Russian Defense Ministry says that last night it hit storage sites for long-range Storm Shadow missiles, "depleted uranium ammunition and centers of radio-technical intelligence and training of sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
