Aviation concern "Antonov" begins production of unmanned aerial vehicles, Reuters reports. According to the publication, production has already started, and Kyiv informed US officials about it in June.
"Antonov" representatives did not comment on Reuters' requests for security reasons.
A Reuters source inside the concern confirms this information and believes that this will allow it to better meet Ukraine's military needs, as well as provide "Antonov" engineers with additional tasks.
"Antonov" has produced unmanned aerial vehicles in the past, including the "Gorlytsia" model, but the company's main focus has been on cargo aircraft.
The source claims that "Antonov's" experience in cargo aviation can be successfully applied to the development of long-range UAVs.
