Vladimir Putin has said that regardless of the outcome of the US presidential election, Washington's foreign policy toward Russia will remain unchanged, according to RosMedia.
The Russian president emphasized that even if Donald Trump wins, no significant changes in US relations with Russia should be expected. In his opinion, the current US government supports anti-Russian sentiment and views Russia as an enemy, and this situation will not change.
At the same time, the Russian leader believes that Russia has "many friends and like-minded people in the United States."
Putin also noted that despite rumors of Trump's ties to Russia, the claims of these ties are "complete nonsense." He noted that Trump has imposed the most sanctions against Russia.
The Russian president believes that the situation around Trump is likely related to his legal problems, demonstrates the "rottenness of the American political system" and "exposes the internal problems of the United States".
