The "compromise" final statement of the G20 summit should help Ukraine's allies convince developing countries to increase pressure on Russia. This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to diplomatic sources, the G20 final statement provides an opportunity to mobilize developing countries to increase pressure on Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine. In particular, "the negotiating partners will return to their capitals with commitments to ensure the territorial integrity of Ukraine".
According to the report, because of this prospect, the United States, the European Union and other allies of Ukraine agreed to exclude direct condemnation of Russia's actions from the final communiqué.
The sources of the publication emphasize that the signing of this document by all participants is considered a promise of 20 states, including Russia and China, to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and work towards a just peace for this country.
