The G20 is likely to officially grant membership to the African Union only next year. This is reported by Reuters. 


According to the publication, two unnamed Indian sources from India said that the membership of the African Union would be approved only next year, when Brazil will chair the G20 instead of India.


Another source, commenting on the situation for the publication, emphasized that none of the G20 members objected to this decision.
