Boryspil Mayor Volodymyr Borysenko has joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He announced this on Facebook on September 5.
In his post, he emphasized the importance of every citizen's readiness to defend Ukraine.
"My journey as a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun. Everyone should be ready to defend Ukraine. Society must realize that when one of the military is injured or, God forbid, killed, another must take his place. It doesn't matter who you are: mayor, deputy, entrepreneur, driver, mechanic..." the mayor said.
Borysenko also noted that now is a decisive moment in the war, and urged everyone to think about how they want to be remembered in these times - as those who passed responsibility to others, or as those who fought and won.
"Join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This war has been going on for centuries, and we have a chance not to pass it on to our children," Borysenko emphasized.
