Advisor to Ukraine's Energy Minister Olena Zerkal has warned that the country's energy system is only 30% ready for winter. This statement was made at a Forbes event. She emphasized that it is necessary to speed up the process of restoring power generation facilities, otherwise Ukraine may face power outages during the cold season.
Zerkal noted that only about a third of the plan to restore electricity generation has been implemented so far.
It is important to note that the country's power grids are 98% ready, and nuclear power plants are 70% ready. Damaged transformers were also repaired and autotransformers were imported from abroad.
It was planned to begin construction of sarcophagi to protect energy facilities from drone attacks, but this work has not yet begun.
Zerkal emphasized: "We have 45 days. The government, experts, and the regulator have all the opportunities and tools to neutralize all risks. And the winter will show who and where "screwed up".
