Russian troops did destroy one of the Challenger 2 battle tanks that Britain handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is reported by Sky News.
British Defense Secretary Grant Shepps confirmed the destruction of the Challenger 2 tank in Ukraine. He noted that it could have happened "in a military zone".
At the same time, Shepps emphasized that Britain would not provide a replacement for the destroyed tank.
Yesterday, a video was posted online showing a tank similar to Challenger 2 on fire. Media sources in the defense ministry reported that the tank could have exploded on a mine, causing a fire in the rear fuel tank.
It should be noted that the tank has very good protection. A BBC source in one of the Western defense ministries noted that the four-person crew survived.
