Venislavsky: There will be no mass extradition of evaders

There will be no mass extradition of men who evade military service, the president's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Fedir Venislavsky, told Radio Liberty.

He emphasized that from a legal point of view, there is no possibility of mass extradition of citizens, as criminal responsibility is individual in nature.

"From the point of view of the legal procedure, there is no mass extradition of citizens. Criminal liability is of a personalized individual nature. Accordingly, in each case, it is necessary to apply and provide the relevant documents stating that the person is hiding from the pre-trial investigation authorities, and then the extradition procedure can be initiated. But given the European standards, this can be appealed in a court in Poland, Bulgaria, etc.," Venislavsky said.

He emphasized that this procedure is complicated, but the authorities are considering ways to "make it more flexible" in the future.
