On the night of August 30, the Russian army launched a large-scale attack with drones and missiles on Kyiv and a number of regions. Almost all of the air targets were successfully shot down by air defense forces, but the attack caused damage and casualties.
Both attack drones and missiles were used in the attack, creating a massive strike on the capital and its surroundings. This is one of the most powerful attacks since spring, the Kyiv City Military Administration said. Air defense forces managed to destroy more than 20 enemy targets in the capital's airspace.
The tragic outcome of the attack affected several districts of Kyiv and the regions:
- In the Shevchenkivskyi district, two security guards were killed and three injured by debris that fell on the territory of the enterprise;
- In Darnytsia district, the Auchan hypermarket was damaged - the roof was destroyed and rocket fragments fell inside the building.
In the Kyiv region, in Bucha and Fastiv districts, more than 6 houses were damaged by falling rocket and drone debris. A 69-year-old woman was injured. A 43-year-old and a 49-year-old men of one of the houses were also injured.
Garages were also damaged as a result of falling debris. Two cars were destroyed.
The enemy attack also damaged private houses in another district of Kyiv region. The roof and windows were damaged. There was also a fire. The wreckage of a Russian missile was found falling on the territory of a local cemetery.
The Russian army also attacked the Zhytomyr region using kamikaze drones.
""Thanks to the effective work of air defense units, some of the air targets were shot down. The wreckage of the downed drone partially damaged an infrastructure facility and a railway track," wrote Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the RMA.
The enemy also attacked Odesa region with sea-based missiles. Air defense and maritime security forces destroyed 8 missiles over the Black Sea.
In other regions, such as Cherkasy and Mykolaiv, air defense was also carried out - there were no casualties or damage.
