President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has shared his vision of a future bilateralagreement on security guarantees with the United States. During an interview with Natalia Moseychuk, he noted that such an agreement could be based on the Israeli model, but with the specifics of each country in mind.
"There (in agreements on security guarantees, - ed.) there should be sanctions, and weapons, finances, air defense, aircraft - the menu is large, but a different client, let's say so. With the United States, it will be a more powerful bilateral agreement, with Britain, it will be stronger. There are states that simply do not have weapons, but (have - ed.) finances, serious sanctions in case of repeated aggression," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President also compared the future agreement with the United States to the Israeli model of security guarantees, noting that it includes weapons, technology, training, and finance.
"With the United States, we will probably have exactly this model - the Israeli model, where there are weapons, technology, training, finance, etc. It seems to be Israeli, but we have a different state and a different enemy," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the agreements on security guarantees will be valid regardless of the change of the president in the USA, as they must be ratified by Congress. And in European countries - by parliaments.
The President emphasized that Ukraine remains committed to the path to NATO and that security guarantees will support the country during the period of integration into the Alliance.
