Finland will increase aid to Ukraine. According to a report on August 25, 2023, the President of the Republic decided to support this initiative recommended by the Government.
As part of the 18th defense aid package for Ukraine, Finland is considering replacing certain defense equipment, which will cost about 94 million euros. The total value of all defense aid packages provided so far is estimated at approximately EUR 1.3 billion.
"Finland and our allies' support for Ukraine remains unwavering. The main security issue in Europe and in Finland is the ability to deter Russia's aggression against Ukraine," said Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen.
Details regarding the specific content of the aid package, its delivery and schedule remain confidential in order to ensure the effective and safe implementation of the project. The decision to provide additional aid to Ukraine takes into account the needs of the country and the limited resources of the Armed Forces.
