Kajsa Ollongren, the Dutch Minister of Defense, has revealed details of the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noting that several of the aircraft will be used to train Ukrainian pilots.
In an interview with Ukrainian media, Ollongren explained that although the Netherlands has 42 F-16s, some of them will be used to train new Ukrainian pilots.
"We will transfer all of our fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, except for some that will be used for training. Pilots never complete their training," the minister said.
According to her, it is planned to set up a training center in Romania to train pilots, where these aircraft will be used.
Ollongren emphasized that the training process should be continuous, and the Netherlands has been implementing this approach for many years.
