Poland strengthens its air force with new American equipment

According to Bloomberg, the US State Department has approved Poland's purchase of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, engines, and other military equipment worth a total of $12 billion.


In 2022, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced plans to double the country's military spending, advocating for strengthening its role as a major European ally and calling for military aid to Ukraine.


The international military deal, which includes the sale of Apache helicopters made by Boeing Co, also includes 210 engines from GE Aviation, 1,844 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles, 460 AGM-179A air-to-ground missiles from Lockheed Martin Corp, as well as missile warning systems, radars and sensors.


The State Department noted that the deal will increase Poland's ability to overcome future threats by providing eliable troops ready to deter adversaries and participate in NATO operations.
