As a result of the explosion at the Kakhovskaya HPP and the consequent disruptions in the water supply, more than a million Ukrainians were left without water supply. On the instructions of the President, the construction of the main water pipeline "Ingulets - Kryazheve" was launched. This water pipeline consists of four lines and is designed to supply water from the Ingulets River to the Southern Reservoir and then distribute it to the city of Kryvyi Rih.
Today, the first line of this main water supply system has been put into operation and will provide access to water for about 25% of Kryvyi Rih residents. The first link delivers water through a pumping station to an underground pipeline, which then leads to the Southern Reservoir and distributes water to the city's residents. This process is expected to be completed within 10 days.
It is worth noting that the construction of the Ingulets-Kryazheve pipeline is being carried out in accordance with the recommendations of consulting engineers and independent technical supervisors to ensure maximum transparency and efficiency. The project is also supported by international partners who understand its importance and contribute to its implementation.
According to the report, work on the construction of the water pipeline is ongoing 24/7. The State Agency for Reconstruction, together with local and regional authorities, is implementing the project. There are also plans to conduct a comprehensive technical audit of the project documentation for all three sections of the main water supply system with the support of USAID_VzayemoDiia.
The main water supply project includes three sections with a total length of almost 150 km. The remaining two sections, "Marhanets - Nikopol - Pokrov" and "Zaporizhzhia - Tomakivka - Marhanets", are expected to be launched in late summer.
