SBI officers reported the suspicion to the deputy battalion commander of a military unit in Odesa region, who had been forcing his subordinates to build a private house for him for almost a year.
According to the report, starting in August 2022, the deputy commander of the military unit instructed the soldiers to build a personal estate for him near Odesa instead of fulfilling their military duties to defend and protect Ukraine.
During the work, the soldiers were paid at the level of military salaries. This resulted in losses to the state in excess of UAH 2 million. For this, he may be punished in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
