Russia aims to produce 6000 Shaheds by 2025 - The Washington Post

According to information published in The Washington Post, Russia is seeking to launch the production of 6,000 Shahed drones on its territory by 2025.

To achieve this goal, according to the newspaper, Russia is cooperating with Iran, with which it has signed a billion-dollar deal. It is planned to establish a production facility in Tatarstan.

The documents obtained by The Washington Post show that despite some delays and dependence on foreign electronic components, "Moscow is steadily moving toward its goal of producing a variant of Iran's Shahed-136 attack drone capable of flying more than 1,600 kilometers."

Engineers are also working on developing a Russian version of the Shahed capable of "mass attacks," improving "quality control" and scaling up production to surpass Iran's.

Experts who have studied the documents have expressed doubts that Russia will be able to achieve the goal of producing 6,000 drones by the deadline. Currently, production is already a month behind schedule.

However, analysts believe that Russia can achieve a sufficient production scale to carry out large-scale attacks on Ukraine, using hundreds of drones simultaneously.
