Ukraine activates reserve brigades for offensive in the south - Forbes

Ukraine has sent one of the remaining powerful reserve brigades intended for the southern offensive into battle. This event was reported by Forbes.

Over the past few days, the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, which consists of about 2,000 soldiers and armed Marder and Stryker vehicles, as well as Challenger 2 tanks, has taken part in combat operations in the area of Rabotyno, in the Orikhiv direction in Zaporizhzhia region.

It is reportedly one of the most combat-ready units in the Ukrainian armed forces.

"The 82nd and 46th Brigades were among the last large units that the Ukrainian General Staff kept in reserve. When the 46th and 82nd Brigades retreat to rest, reset and repair, there may not be as powerful fresh brigades to replace them. The counteroffensive may lose momentum," the publication notes.

According to Forbes, Ukraine still has unused brigades of territorial defense and the National Guard. However, they are believed to often lack sufficient firepower and training.
