The deadline for submitting applications for payments to victims of the Kakhovka HPP explosion has been extended

The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the deadline for applications for compensation to victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion until October 31, 2023. This information was made public by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. 


He emphasized that the state continues to provide assistance to those affected by the flooding after the Kakhovka HPP explosion.


Shmyhal noted that more than UAH 52 million has already been paid to residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions as compensation for the damage.


"The government has extended the acceptance of applications for financial assistance until the end of October so that everyone can benefit from it," the Prime Minister emphasized.


As a reminder, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up on June 6. This incident led to the flooding of parts of Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
