The Russian army is mostly active in the Kupyansk sector, where the enemy is trying to capture heights and possibly even try to penetrate the city. This was reported by National Guard spokesman Ruslan Muzychuk during the telethon.
"Currently, the Kupyansk direction remains the epicenter of hostilities, where the enemy will concentrate its main efforts," he emphasized.
According to him, the enemy forces and resources have intensified in recent days and are aimed at trying to change the course of events in this area of the front.
"In particular, amphibious assault units have been brought here, and they have also reinforced with tank units, which, with the support of aviation and artillery, are trying to storm our positions," said Muzychuk.
The spokesman also noted that the enemy is seeking to expand the front of its offensive and improve the tactical situation, including an attempt to seize advantageous geographical areas such as heights and natural barriers such as rivers.
"We also see that the enemy is actively using aviation. Over the past weeks, more than 50 air attacks have been taking place daily, and sometimes more than 80. All this is aimed at pulling up the reserves of Ukrainian forces in this direction," noted Muzychuk.
According to him, one of the enemy's strategic goals in the Kupyansk direction may be a direct invasion of Kupyansk.
The National Guard representative added that the Russian army does not suffer from a shortage of ammunition, and there is a constant increase in the number of attacks on the eastern front.
