The Russian ruble has become one of the weakest currencies in the world - Bloomberg

According to Bloomberg, the Russian ruble has become one of the three weakest currencies in the world.

The ruble weakened against the dollar by 23%, which led to its positioning in the top three worst performing currencies among emerging markets. It found itself next to the Turkish lira and the Argentine peso.

The agency reports that the ruble has already traded below 97 per dollar and is approaching 100 per dollar.

Bloomberg analysts point out that the weakness of the Russian currency is caused by capital outflows and a deterioration in foreign trade.
