According to information published by RBC-Ukraine with reference to industry sources and received documents, Ukraine continues to sell titanium to the Russian Federation, which is used for the production of aircraft and missiles, in the context of the armed conflict.
Ukraine has significant reserves of titanium ores, which make up 20% of the world's reserves, but the country almost does not produce this valuable material. Titanium concentrate is mainly exported.
In the period from July 2022 to April 2023, the state-owned United Mining and Chemical Company exported 82,200 tons of ores containing titanium.
According to the publication's sources, a significant part of these products reached Russia through intermediaries from countries such as Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This fact raises questions and disrupts the discussion about the motives and consequences of the sale of titanium in the context of the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
