China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that talks held in Saudi Arabia over the weekend to find a peaceful plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine led to "consolidation of international consensus", Reuters reports.
Special envoy Li Hui was present at the meeting on behalf of China, who held extensive consultations with various parties and received their support in resolving the crisis in Ukraine.
"All parties welcomed Li Hui's presence and fully supported China's positive role in promoting peace talks," the statement said.
China will continue to strengthen dialogue based on its 12-point peace proposal and "build up mutual trust," the foreign ministry said, without elaborating.
