Former People's Deputy Yevhenii Murayev was informed of suspicion of treason. He used the TV channel "Nash" to spread Russian propaganda in Ukraine.
This was reported by the SSU press service.
According to the investigation, Murayev used the "Nash" TV channel under his control for mass dissemination of Kremlin narratives in the information space of Ukraine.
Thus, the ex-people's deputy purposefully used his own TV channel to manipulate the public opinion of Ukrainians in the interests of the Russian Federation.
As noted in the SSU, this primarily concerned the submission of distorted information about the internal situation in Ukraine and its perception in the international arena. In this regard, at the beginning of February 2022, NSDC sanctions were imposed against the Murayev TV channel.
The law enforcement officers add that after the examinations, the facts of the ex-people's deputy's criminal activity against the state security of Ukraine have now been finally confirmed.
Currently, comprehensive measures are underway to establish all the circumstances of the crimes. Muraev faces up to 15 years in prison for what he did.
Murayev's party is banned in Ukraine
We will remind you that last summer the court banned the "Nashi" party of former People's Deputy Yevgeny Murayev.
In addition, in the fall of 2022, SBU officers conducted a series of searches at Murayev's residences and offices. During the searches, cash in Russian rubles, weapons, as well as computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of illegal activities were found.
Interestingly, even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Britain, it was announced that the Kremlin was planning to create a "puppet" government in Ukraine.
And then the British reported that the former People's Deputy Murayev was considered a potential leader of the Russian-controlled authorities in Ukraine.
