In Kyiv, a driver hit a soldier at a roadblock, one to death. The accident occurred during the curfew, the culprit of the accident has already been detained.

 "The driver of a car at high speed ran into a National Guard soldier and rammed two cars. As a result of the accident, one serviceman died on the spot, another was hospitalized, another serviceman was examined by doctors on the spot," the message reads.

 So, today at 00:05 a.m., the Kyiv police on special line 102 received a message that the driver of a Volkswagen car had an accident with the victims at a checkpoint near the "Svyatoshin" metro station. An ambulance and an investigative-operational team of the capital's traffic accident investigation team immediately went to the scene.

 Previously, the law enforcement officers established that the 23-year-old driver at high speed ran into two soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine who were on duty at the checkpoint. Next, the car rammed two more parked cars, one of which was occupied by a military officer of the territorial procurement center.

 "As a result of the collision, the 49-year-old soldier died of his injuries on the spot, and his 26-year-old comrade was hospitalized with injuries of various degrees of severity. Another injured soldier was treated on the spot," the police added.

 As the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office added, according to the investigation materials, the driver of a car, moving along Beresteyskyi Avenue during the curfew, ran over NSU military personnel who were on duty at the checkpoint.

In addition, the Kyiv police published a video of the moment of the road accident on Beresteysky prospect.

 The law enforcement officers conducted an examination of the driver for intoxication with the help of the "Drager" device, which did not detect alcohol in his body, and further examinations will establish whether he was under the influence of drugs. Kermanych was detained by the police in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

 Investigators of the Metropolitan Police have started criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code - violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles. The detainee is liable to imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.

 We remind you that this is not the first fatal road accident involving the military National Guard. So, on May 25, at 11:55 p.m., the driver of a Lexus ES350 drove along Beresteysky Avenue in Kyiv, past the checkpoint where he hit a 23-year-old National Guard soldier to death.

 Later it turned out that Oleksiy Tandyr, the judge of the Makariv district court of the Kyiv region, was behind the wheel. At the moment, Judge Tandyr is in custody.
