Greta Thunberg was fined for "climate" protest and disobedience to the police

Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg was fined for disobeying the police. She refused to leave the "climate" protest in the port of Malmö. A few hours later, she was detained at another protest.

This is reported by the BBC.

The rally, organized by environmental activist group Take Back Your Future, attempted to block the entrances and exits to the port in the Swedish city of Malmö to protest the use of fossil fuels.

"We decided not to be bystanders, but instead to physically stop fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future," Thunberg said.

The law enforcement officers accused the activist of disobedience. The police claim that she refused to comply with the order to leave the protest. Thunberg denied the charges, but was found guilty and ordered to pay a fine of SEK 2,500 ($240).

Just a few hours after this incident, Greta Thunberg took part in another protest, where she was detained by law enforcement officers. In both cases, she was part of a group of protesters who blocked the road for oil trucks in the port of Malmö.

 Greta Thunberg's visit to Ukraine

On June 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with eco-activist Greta Thunberg, Vice-President of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala and other eco-activists. He drew their attention to the catastrophic consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, which the residents of the Kherson region faced.

Thunberg said that the world's response to the Russian terrorists' detonation of the Kakhovskaya HPP was insufficient.
