The Prime Minister of Ireland on the war: Ukraine will win, and Russia will not succeed

Ukraine will win the war against Russia, and the Western countries should help ensure just such a scenario for the end of the conflict.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, Perspective reports.

During a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Kyiv, he emphasized that Russia is now trying to break the determination of the Ukrainian people, but this is impossible.

"Today's visit to the sites of atrocities (by the Russians - ed.) and my meeting here in Kyiv confirmed to me that Russia will not succeed, and it cannot be allowed that Russia succeeds," said the head of the Irish government.

According to him, the idea that in the 21st century a country's borders can be changed through violence or democratic governments can be overthrown by foreign invasion must disappear.

"We must ensure Ukraine's success, its victory in this war, so that no other country is attacked," Varadkar said.

He added that Russia is very mistaken if it expects to frighten Ukraine's friends with the help of strikes on the civilian population and infrastructure facilities.

"Volodymyr Zelenskyi, we will stand by Ukraine as long as it takes. Ukraine will win and Ukraine will be restored," summed up the Prime Minister.

Visit of the Prime Minister of Ireland

We will remind, today the head of the Irish government arrived in Ukraine with an unannounced visit. He already managed to visit Bucha, where he saw the consequences of the atrocities of the Russian occupiers.

The Prime Minister also met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The parties wanted to discuss strengthening cooperation and justice for Ukraine.
