In Russia, they announced the termination of the "grain agreement"

The Kremlin refused to extend the "grain agreement", which expires today, July 17.

This was stated by the spokesman of the Russian dictator Dmytro Peskov, reports RBC-Ukraine.

"The arrangements regarding the "grain agreement" have actually been terminated, it has been stopped," Peskov told propagandist Russian media.

According to him, Russia will allegedly immediately return to the "grain agreement", but on the condition that its "agreements will be fulfilled".

As reported by pro-Kremlin publications, Peskov gave a negative answer to the question of whether the explosion on the Crimean Bridge could affect the "grain agreement".

Subsequently, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, reported that today Russia allegedly "officially notified Turkey and Ukraine of objections to the continuation of the "grain agreement".

It should be noted that within the framework of this agreement, Ukraine does not conduct direct negotiations with Russia.

The Ukrainian side is discussing the issue with Turkey and the UN, and they, in turn, are conducting separate negotiations with the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commented on Russia's withdrawal from the "grain agreement". He said he plans to discuss it at a meeting with dictator Vladimir Putin in August.

"The Black Sea Initiative has gone down in history as an important diplomatic success. More than 33 million tons of grain products have been shipped. Many countries managed to avoid being involved in a food crisis," Erdogan said.

Also, after Russia announced the termination of the "grain agreement" today, world prices for wheat rose sharply. This is reported by The Telegraph.

Wheat prices on July 17 at the Chicago raw material rose immediately by 6.7% - up to $6.89 per bushel.

Russia and Ukraine are two of the world's leading agricultural producers and major players in the markets for wheat, barley, corn, rapeseed, rapeseed oil, sunflower seeds and sunflower oil. Russia also dominates the fertilizer market.

It should be added that the last ship with Ukrainian food left the port of Odesa on Sunday morning as part of the agreement.
