Sweden will simplify and speed up the delivery of weapons to Ukraine. Minister of Defense Paul Jonson signed an agreement on security protection with our country at the NATO summit in Vilnius.
This was reported by the press service of the Swedish government.
"The agreement makes it possible for Sweden and Ukraine to exchange confidential information concerning, for example, JAS Gripen test flights or military equipment," the government said in a statement.
Sweden's Defense Materials Agency (FMV) is also entering into an agreement with Ukraine that will allow the country to buy defense materials directly from industry with shorter delivery times.
"We will support Ukraine as much as it needs to win the war, restore its freedom and rebuild its country," the Swedish Defense Minister emphasized.
Aid to Ukraine from Sweden
Sweden supports Ukraine in a full-scale war started by Russia. So, in mid-June, the country announced a new package of military aid. The support, in particular, includes the training of Ukrainian pilots on JAS 39 Gripen aircraft.
Later, Sweden presented a new aid package to Ukraine for humanitarian needs and reconstruction for a total amount of SEK 380 million (EUR 32.51 million).
