Zelenskyі reacted to the idea of the G7 regarding security guarantees for Ukraine

The G7 countries can agree on security guarantees for Ukraine today, July 12, within the framework of the NATO summit. This will be a concrete success for Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyі during a press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"I would very much like that we had success at the summit today for all of us - for Ukraine, for our soldiers, for our citizens, for our children. In particular, security guarantees, which are so important for people. Security guarantees on the way to NATO, and not instead of (joining NATO, - ed.)," Zelenskyі emphasized.

The President confirmed that today the G7 countries can agree on security guarantees for Ukraine.

"Today, these security guarantees can be confirmed by the G7. And I think if this happens, we will work on it, it will be really so important for us, a concrete success," said the guarantor.

Zelenskyі emphasized that Ukraine does not yet have legal security guarantees from its partners, but there are actual ones - financial, sanctions and defense.

"This may become the first legal document that symbolizes that we have such an umbrella of security guarantees. And then Ukraine will have documents with each of the security guarantor states. And there will be all the things that we have or that we lack . These things will be on a bilateral level. This document gives the opportunity to join other partners, except the "seven" countries, - said the president.

According to the head of state, the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius are "good, but not ideal" for Ukraine.

"We can state that the results of the summit are good, but if there was an invitation, they would be ideal," the president emphasized.

 Results of the NATO summit

Today, the second day of the summit of NATO countries continues in Vilnius, the main topic of which is Ukraine. Yesterday, the allies agreed on a joint communiqué, in which they also outlined their vision for the integration of Ukraine, but the Alliance did not provide clear conditions and a timetable for joining.
