Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi paid a visit to Bulgaria and met with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov. During the visit, the Memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation between the countries in the field of energy was signed.

The document was signed by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.
The memorandum aims to create framework conditions for deepening cooperation in the energy sector of Ukraine and Bulgaria based on the principle of mutual benefit and taking into account the common interests and goals of both countries.
The parties undertook:
provide affordable energy,
support industrial and regional development,
maintain the security and well-being of their peoples,
expand cooperation,
to expand the general commitment to the protection of the environment and mitigation of the consequences of climate change,
reduce carbon emissions.
Taking into account Ukraine's status as a candidate for joining the European Union and Bulgaria's obligations as an EU member state, the parties agreed to intensify further mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, "green" energy, hydrogen, energy storage systems and "smart" networks.
The exchange of knowledge and experience regarding the protection of energy infrastructure from physical, electromagnetic and cyber threats is also a priority in cooperation.
Zelenskyi in Bulgaria
Today, July 6, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, arrived on an official visit to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
After the meeting of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolay Denkov, the Joint Declaration on the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine was signed in Sofia.
