Ukraine received the second tranche from the IMF for 890 million dollars

Ukraine received the second tranche of $890 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The funds have already reached the general fund of the country's state budget.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

So far, Ukraine has already received $3.59 billion from the IMF. Total financing under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program is $15.6 billion.

"Thanks to the provided funds, we are able to continue to maintain economic stability in Ukraine and ensure priority expenditures of the state budget," said Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.

 Program from the IMF

At the end of March, the International Monetary Fund approved a four-year Enhanced Financing Program (EFF) for Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion. As part of this program, the IMF allocated the first tranche in the amount of 2.7 billion dollars. This program is part of the general package of international support for Ukraine, which is estimated at 115 billion dollars.

Within the framework of the mentioned program, the Ukrainian authorities undertook to implement 19 structural beacons as a condition for obtaining further funding. These structural beacons include reforms and measures aimed at improving the country's economic situation, particularly in the areas of the financial sector, the tax system, budget discipline, privatization, anti-corruption measures, improving the business climate, energy reforms and infrastructure development.

The IMF mission worked in Vienna from May 23 to 30, 2023. An agreement was reached on the updated list of measures and the financial and economic policy. Now the agreement is subject to approval by the Board of Executive Directors of the IMF, after which Ukraine will receive a tranche of $900 million.
