Russian President Vladimir Putin's reaction to the rebellion of the founder of the "Wagner" Communist Party Yevgeny Prigozhin was "weak", and he is losing control over his own people.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyі stated this in an interview with CNN.
"We see Putin's reaction. It is weak. First, we see that he does not control everything. Wagner's advance into Russia and the capture of certain regions shows how easy it is to do this. Putin does not control the situation in the regions," he said
Zelenskyі noted that Ukrainian intelligence reports show that the Kremlin is measuring support for Prigozhin, the leader of the Russian mercenaries. According to the president, half of Russia supports Prigozhin and the rebellion of the "Wagnerians".
"The entire vertical of power that he had is simply collapsing," the president stated.
Prigozhin's Rebellion
The coup of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the "Wagner" Communist Party, took place on June 24. The reason for this was the matured conflict between the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu and the leader of the "Wagnerivites". By the end of the day, it became known that Prigozhin abruptly canceled his "hike to Moscow", which was 200 km away. He was persuaded to take such a step by the head of the Belarusian regime Oleksandr Lukashenko.
On June 24, the press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmytro Peskov announced that Prigozhin would go to Belarus. In this case, a criminal case will be closed against him due to the fact of the coup in Russia. And so it happened - the case against Prigozhin was closed, and his planes landed one by one at one of the military airfields in Belarus a few days later.
