The war will not end while Crimea is under occupation, - Zelenskyі

Ukraine will consider the restoration of the territorial integrity of our state as of 1991 as a victory in the war against Russia. That is, the war will not end while Crimea is under Russian occupation.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in an interview with CNN.

Despite the fact that Ukraine's efforts are currently focused on regaining territory in the south and east, the president noted that the ultimate goal of the state is the liberation of Crimea.

"We cannot imagine Ukraine without Crimea. And while Crimea is under Russian occupation, this means only one thing: the war is not over yet," he said.

When asked if there is a scenario in which there can be peace without Crimea, Zelenskyі said: "Then it will not be a victory."

 Liberation of Crimea

In early April, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that Ukraine can return Crimea within 5-7 months. At the same time, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksiy Danilov, noted that everything will depend on the behavior of the Russian Federation when choosing a method for liberating the peninsula.

In addition, the President of Ukraine emphasized that without Crimea there will be no peace for international relations and law.
