Germany will help Ukraine as much as it needs - Scholz

Germany will continue to help Ukraine defend against a Russian invasion as long as it is needed. There is already funding for this.

This was stated by Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The head of the German government emphasized that the West should be prepared for the fact that Russian aggression will last "quite a long time". That is why NATO allies are preparing and adapting their policies to this.

"Germany will support Ukraine as long as it is needed. We have the necessary funding in our budget and German industry is increasing its capabilities for the production, repair and maintenance of weapons," Scholz emphasized.

He also expressed confidence that Europe now needs to invest in air defense, which will allow protection against ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

 Aid to Ukraine from Germany

We will remind you that Germany has been providing military aid to Ukraine almost since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russians.

The country has already given our military armored vehicles, air defense systems, anti-aircraft guns and more. In particular, the soldiers of the Armed Forces received the latest Leopard 2A6 tanks from Germany.

Also, the German defense concern Rheinmetall plans to build in Ukraine, where they will produce modern tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
